Everyone runs into problems knowing the right way to say what they mean from time to time. This section focuses on some of the problems that teens can have when interacting with friends and family. The goal is to help you communicate more effectively and get along better with others.
We will focus on three major parts of communicating: listening, talking and nonverbal cues.
Looking for Nonverbal Cues
Nonverbal Cues are hints or guiding suggestions that can help us to communicate better. Eye contact, gestures, body posture, and tone of voice can serve as cues.

In Session 5, we introduced you to Jeff and his project group. While discussing their project, Jeff continued to speak even though other members of the group were sending clear signals for him to stop and listen to them. He had a hard time picking up on their signals.
