Some sibs feel embarrassed. Sometimes teens who had head injuries – or suffered other injuries – might look or act differently. This might feel embarrassing for the teen with the injuries as well as for his or her siblings.
Teens with head injuries might say and do things without thinking. Although, this might not embarrass you when it occurs in the privacy of your own home, when it happens in public, this same behavior might seem very embarrassing.

If this happens in front of friends you trust you might feel better if you explain that your sib is acting different because of the injury. This way you know they won’t be wondering. You could ask your parents to explain this to them if you’re uncomfortable talking about it.
Also, you probably would want to do this when your sib isn’t listening to avoid embarrassing them.
