There are a number of options available for receiving additional support in school.

Section 504 Plans:

Individualized Education Plan (IEP):

Informal Accommodations:

  • Tutoring
  • Office Hours
  • Individual teachers making adjustments
  • In order to get additional help from the school, parents need to request a team meeting for either a 504 or IEP. Schools may use a previous neuropsychological evaluation, if available, or may choose to do their own testing.
  • The parent is part of the school team that includes teachers, administrators, special education, and/or related services that decides if a student needs help, and what that help should look like.
