Aim:

I want Sarah to increase her reading skills. Specifically, my goal is for Sarah to be able to read with less effort. I want Sarah to increase her understanding of the material she has read. I want Sarah’s average grade to be a B- (or above).

Defining the Problem:
  • Sarah has trouble understanding what she reads
  • Sarah’s instructor teaches reading in groups. Sarah reads better with individual attention.
  • Sarah’s instructor doesn’t understand how Sarah’s brain injury affects her reading skills.
Brainstorm Solutions and Choose the Best:
  • Have the school psychologist or reading specialist do a reading assessment to pinpoint Sarah’s challenges.
  • Provide teachers with relevant information about Sarah’s condition.
