  • Set up a quiet area for study or school work.
  • Break down complicated instructions into simple steps.
  • Repeat the instructions to the teacher to make sure you understand and got them right.
  • Write down instructions if necessary.
  • Take frequent, short breaks to help you stay focused.
  • Start out with small goals and work up to bigger projects.
  • Stop and think about what you need to do before you get started. Review what you have done before stopping.
  • When you finish a project, reward yourself. (Parents – remember to pat your teen on the back for their hard work!)
