It’s OK to have all of these feelings, and any other feelings for that matter. But if you’re upset and want to feel better, what kinds of things might help?

Here are some suggestions that may help you cope with your feelings:

  • Talk to a friend, a parent, counselor, or someone you know who is a good listener.
  • Think of someone you know with a sib that has an illness. They may understand what you’re going through, even if you don’t know them as well.
  • Watch a funny movie.
  • Write a journal entry – either for yourself or for others to see.
  • Exercise; go for a walk or a run, jump rope.
  • Listen to music.
  • Do something creative: color, paint, sculpt.
  • Scream into a pillow.
  • Ask to have a special outing with your mom/dad, just with you.
